Diethanolamine, also known as bishydroxyethylamine and 2,2′-iminobisethanol, is a white crystal or colorless liquid with strong hygroscopicity. It is easily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone and benzene. Its solubility (g/100g) in benzene at 25°C is 4.2 and in ether is 0.8.
