1,4-Butanediol glycidyl ether, also known as 1,4-butanediol dialkyl ether or BDG, is an organic compound. It is a colorless to light yellow liquid with low volatility. It is soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, methanol and dimethylformamide.Commonly used as chemical raw materials and solvents. It is also used as a stabilizer for dyes and pigments。It can be produced by esterification of 1,4-butanediol with methanol or methanol solution. The reaction conditions are generally carried out under high pressure and in the presence of a catalyst.
When using 1,4-butanediol glycidyl ether, care must be taken to prevent contact with skin and eyes. During use and storage, high temperatures and sources of fire should be avoided. Pay attention to the sealing of storage containers to prevent evaporation and leakage.
