‌Production process‌:

Use anhydrous AlC13 as a catalyst to catalyze the reaction between N-ethylaniline and acrylonitrile. The optimized conditions are: add 10% of the weight of N-ethylaniline anhydrous AlC13, react at about 80°C for 6-8 hours, and the conversion rate reaches 98.5%, with a yield of more than 97%.
Another process uses N-ethylaniline and chloroethanol under the catalysis of inorganic bases or salts to synthesize it at 120-130°C. The yield can reach 90%, but wastewater is formed in the process.
