On October 12, the Yangtze River Delta region announced a plan to stop production in autumn and winter, following the announcement in late September of a moratorium on production in The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas.So far, 85 regions and 39 industries have been affected by the “work stoppage order”.

On Oct 12, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment issued a draft action Plan to tackle air pollution in the Yangtze River Delta region in autumn and winter 2020-2021, also known as the autumn and winter moratorium.

This year, the number of industries implementing performance rating will be expanded from 15 to 39, and different indicators will be determined according to different production processes in different industries.

Autumn and winter are the key period for the whole year’s air control. The construction site should strictly implement the “six hundred percent” requirements, and constantly improve the fine management level of the construction site.Industrial enterprises should, on the basis of ensuring a stable discharge up to the standards, further strengthen the management level of pollution prevention and control facilities, and reduce the total emission of major atmospheric pollutants by enterprises in key industries.Especially during heavy pollution days, more precise and scientific emergency mitigation measures should be adopted for key areas, areas and periods.In terms of hazardous waste management, the newly implemented solid waste law shall be strictly implemented to strengthen the management of hazardous waste and ensure the safe disposal of hazardous waste.

The sources of air pollution are very complex and there are many sources.More than a dozen industries have different responsibilities for PM2.5.This is certainly a relief for the chemical industry, which is largely responsible for air pollution.
