N,N-dimethyl-1,3-propanediamine (hereinafter referred to as DMAPA) is a lower aliphatic diamine with both tertiary and primary amino groups in the molecule. It is a colorless and transparent liquid with an ammonia smell. It smokes in the air and is soluble in water and organic solvents. Its molecular formula is C5H14N2 and its structural formula is (CH3)2NCH2CH2CH2NH2.
It is one of the important varieties of fatty amine compounds and an important organic raw material intermediate. It is widely used in daily chemicals, pesticides, dyes, resins, etc. At present, most DMAPA in China is mainly used to prepare betaine and amidopropyldimethylamine, which are used in daily chemical products such as shampoo, shower gel, baby shower gel, conditioner, liquid soap and detergent. In addition, DMAPA is also used as a polyurethane catalyst, epoxy resin curing agent and accelerator, and in the production of dyes.
The mainstream synthesis route of DMAPA is: 1. Using dimethylamine and acrylonitrile as raw materials, dimethylaminopropionitrile (DMAPN) is obtained through Michael addition. In the process of industrial preparation of DMAPN, about 2% of the total mass of raw materials is generally added to water to promote the addition reaction and remove excess dimethylamine azeotropically; 2. In order to suppress the formation of this by-product, it is necessary to add 12%-16% of the catalyst mass of caustic alkali aqueous solution or liquid ammonia, caustic alkali aqueous solution and liquid ammonia The use will produce a large amount of waste water and waste liquid, which is difficult to degrade and process, increasing the burden of post-processing.
